June 13-15, 2008
Hi!
After my late start on Friday 6/13/08 (4:20 pm) we have finally arrived in Kansas City, Missouri 6/15/08 for the 2008 National Barbie Doll Collector's Convention.
Enjoy!
Buffalo area sky was really bad. I knew I was in for trouble.
After driving thru pouring rain it did finally let up.
There was a nice sunset thru the remaining drizzle as I came out of Cleveland, Ohio.
I spent the night at my favorite Red Roof Inn, in Maumee, Ohio.
In the morning Mascot (My travel Barbie) and I were ready to be on our way.
I stopped over night in Elburn Illinois to pick up Marcy and we were on our way. Here we are on the road in Iowa.
We passed the world's largest Truck stop.
We only could go so far and had to detour due to all the flooding in Iowa. Oh My.. Here comes MORE rain!
I think we might end up in OZ!
Finally made it to Burlington, Iowa where there was a bridge that we could cross.(Look familiar Sharon?)
There is water everywhere and it is still raining!
We passed Ma and Pa Kettle's. (Joke for my parents)
9 1/2 hours later (for what should have been 7 1/2 hour drive) we arrived in KC, MO.
This is our hotel with the circular top. It is a restaurant with a revolving dining room where we had dinner.
View of the city from Skies Restaurant.
Marcy and me at Skies. Ready to go and spend the week with our girl BARBIE!!
Stay tuned for more convention coverage!
