DAY 2

Hi, Second day past now. I didn't want to tell anyone this till we were sure things were corrected. We had problems with the Cruiser on the way here. We broke a bolt that held the back axle and frame.

I had heard a clunk but nothing seemed wrong. After all the detours I was bound we were going to keep going. I got to a point where I swerved to miss a bird who didn't want to get out of my lane and the car wobbled back and forth like I was driving on ice. It was weird. I knew then something was wrong. I just took it easy and did not change lanes fast and we arrived.

I called Terry and had him find the nearest Chrysler dealer (which was actually in Kansas City about 7 miles from here) and Monday we took it there. After some craziness, they found the part in St. Louis and had it sent here. It was going to be around 40 bucks to get taxi rides back and forth so we opted for the 37 dollars to rent a car.

Anyway Cruiser is fixed and back and we are back on track for an awesome convention.

KC,MO area on our drive to KC, KS Chrysler Dealer.

Keystone Chrysler, Dropped off Cruiser.

Called Patrick (Guy in white shirt) who got us a rental car, a red Chevy Cobalt.

It was automatic and Marcy had to remind me not to shift into park (thinking I was shifting into first gear since I drive a standard) every time we pulled up to a stop. It wasn't our first choice of a car but it did the trick. We really confused the Valet parking people when we came back with a different car when we went out.

We then went to Crown Plaza, did some shopping and had lunch at Panera. We went to a Christmas Shop and saw some really cool OZ nutcrackers. Marcy's family also collects OZ stuff.

We went to the Crayola store. We took these pics by their color wall. KC is home to Hallmark and Crayola.

Stay tuned for more tomorrow.
