Robe de Charmeuse Blanche is a triple prize winner, just back from the CustomDolls Convention in Austin, Texas. She took 2nd place all around, 2nd place for best outfit and 2nd place for best repaint. This doll was inspired by the bookmark that accompanies her on the custom stand designed by the creator's father, Marlow Leake. "Robe" is dressed in a 3 layered outfit consisting first of an ivory sleeveless chemise with green satin trim and red rose at its decollete neckline. The second layer is a short sleeved blue/black pinstriped tunic with paisley trim on sleeve and hem edges. The final layer is a red velvet coat trimmed in black velvet bands. A royal blue turban with black "ostrich" feather adorns her head. Her red hair was cut and styled and her face completely repainted to imitate the model depicted on the bookmark. Custom jewelry and ivory ankle strap pumps complete her outfit. This doll was purchased at the convention and now resides in the collection of Kathy Whiting of Averill Park, New York. |
