Designed for the BMAA 1999 Domestic Phase, her face has been made over and her hair put up and curled in sausage curls. Since custom bridal sewing and design is the creator's living it was only fitting that an original gown was designed for this doll. Her gown of white matte satin has a full train embellished with custom made organza ruffles. The ruffles are secured to the dress by Venise lace that has been beaded and accented with 44 tiny mirrors. (The reason she is called Reflections Bride.) Her fitted bodice features venise lace appliques which have been hand beaded with pearls, crystal rocailles and sequins. Her sleeves and neckline are of stretch illusion and are also accented with Venise lace and beads. The back of this exquisite gown closes with real loops and buttons and the back waistline is adorned with three hand rolled organza roses. Her headpiece is a pillbox hat with another mirror for the crown. It features a two tiered veil of illusion with filament edging and a curly pouf. She wears original designed jewelry of pearl and rhinestone, full net petticoat and white panty hose (which were slightly snagged when she was poorly packaged for the return trip from the contest) with lace trimmed undies. A blue garter and white T-strap pumps complete her outfit.(She was rejected and never made it into the magazine.)
Update: Reflections Bride was modified and sent back for the BMAA 2000. She appeared in the contest this time!(B13) Her Face paint was touched up and rooted eye lashes were added. She was also given a new tiara style headpiece and veil and a beautiful bouquet. The top photo shows her new look while the two bottom ones show her original design.
This doll remains in my private collection.
